Easy to hang your art

This frame allowed us to display some affordable art prints in our home and office with ease and confidence that the assembled products would look great for many years

Instructions where pictures only so you had to use some interpretation and double checking before you did anything just to make sure. Suggest laying out your process and going through the motions once before you start. I went step by step and spent twice the time I should have due to needing to make adjustments that where not quick. Looks to be very sturdy. Keep in mind your pictures will not sit flush against the wall due to hanging from the cords.

We were looking for a way to display artwork in our church sanctuary and the cliprail pro system is just what we needed. The white finish and clear cords nearly disappear in the space, leaving the focus on the artwork. We installed five rails and quickly ordered additional cords and hooks to accommodate a variety of arrangements. The rails seem extremely secure and the cords and hooks are easy to use.

First - build a jig of some sort to ensure all the screws are on the same line. I held the rail against the ceiling, drew a line along the bottom of the rail and put the screws along the line. When I tried to get them all in a line by measuring down from the ceiling there was always one that was off juuuuuust enough that it wouldn't clip in. It took me way too long to think of holding the rail to the ceiling and drawing one long line.Second - if you do need to trim the pieces make sure you have the proper tools to do so. It isn't hard, but the first one I did not use the proper tool and it left black marks and didn't cut smoothly. This is my fault for being lazy and thinking something would be good enough, and not the fault of the product itself, but wanted to share my mistake so you don't make it.Third - I love it! We just redid our walls after removing wallpaper and I didn't want to put a bunch of holes in my new smooth walls. I also have a bunch of photos and prints and wasn't quite sure how they were going to be arranged in the reconfigured room. I've been so happy with how easily I've been able to move things around as I bring things out of storage and have to find a place for everything.I purchased this hanging system from Amazon to try it out and then went to the Stas website and purchased the rest of the pieces for the room directly from them.

First thing: I have the Cliprail 'max' version in white. The difference between the 'max' and the 'pro' versions seem to be that the max rail is taller so that the rail is flush up against your ceiling and you don't have a small, 1/2" gap between the top of the rail and your ceiling. The 'pro' isn't as tall but seems to be rated for more weight (199lbs/rail for the pro vs 110lbs/rail for the max). I went with the max cause I wanted that flush-to-the-ceiling look. As you can see in the picture, the rail is straight and rigid, but my ceiling is very slightly wavy, so there's some small, finger-nail thick gaps at places. That's my house's fault, not the cliprail's fault.Anyway, the actual review. I splurged the money on this system over just hammering in picture nails because I wanted a professional looking setup, and because I wanted to be able to change the picture wall at will without leaving ugly holes or having to plan new art around existing nails. This system works perfectly for that. Get a new art piece? Simply shift cables and move the zip hooks up and down until you're happy with the layout. Just last week I added a few pictures and it took all of 15 minutes, mostly spent fine tuning the pictures on the hooks so they're level.Installation was pretty easy. Comes all all necessary hardware, you'll need some basic handyman tools like a drill (hammerdrill if you're going into brick wall like me) and bits/heads. The STAS website has a handy template you can print out so you can easily mark off where you need to drill holes so your rail is level with your ceiling. Installation consists of sinking the screws and anchor collars into the wall, then simply snapping the railing onto the anchor collars. It's important to make sure the screws are in a straight light or you'll be fighting the rigidity of the rail the entire time (reminder to use the template I mentioned above). I found it helpful to wrap a hammer in a rag and give the rail some gentle taps if it resists snapping onto the anchor collars. You may also need a hack saw if you need to cut a rail down to size so it fits perfectly between a wall; I did.The plastic cables looked cheap to me, so I swapped them all out for the silver stainless steel cables. Also tried the black and white steel cables but they were too garish. I'm happy with the stainless steel cables. With the steel cables, you have to use the 'zip hook' hangers (not the smart spring hangers).All in all, very happy with the purchase, guests are jealous of the simplicity and absence of nails or holes in the wall, and I enjoy the flexibility of being able to change around our pictures with ease.

Did not meet my needs (my fault) so I tried to return it. I found that I was responsible for the return shipping was to the US which cost $80 cad. As this was roughly the cost of the item. It is sitting wrapped and labeled in my closet.

Not stable for hanging plaques or pictures, as people walk by the bump into each other, had to use command strips to secure frame

The system stays well in the background not detracting from the wall or the displayed artwork. I would have liked more detail with the installation instructions but it all worked out after a few head scratches and missteps. I'll buy this system again. Oh, and it would have been nice if it came with more hangers.
